It's always a good idea to be skeptical of any term used as a marketing tool, and "organic" isn't any different. Science writer Rob Johnston lays out the myths about organic food in an excellent new column for The Independent. Isn't organic farming good for the environment? No, it actually requires more land than non-organic farming. Doesn't organic farming refrain from using poisonous pesticides?
