The Allen Telescope Array, a massive group of radio telescopes funded by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, has finally been switched on. Run by the SETI Institute and the Radio Astronomy Laboratory of UC Berkeley, the array significantly enhances our ability to discover signs of intelligent life. The ATA is able to sweep more than a million star systems, so here's hoping we pick up a few alien TV shows that are better than this year's fall lineup. I mean seriously. Cavemen?
