Ask an Amateur Scientist: Rods

In this fourth installment of my weekly PinkRaygun.com column Ask an Amateur Scientist, I discuss rods, those creepy critters Coast to Coast AM listeners swear they can see flittering through the air in the corners of their eyes. Although rods (also called "skyfish") have been conclusively proven to be a photographic artifact of insects flying in front of camera lenses, the evidence-wary public soldiers on in the face of all doubt. I, on the other hand, am thankful I can spend an afternoon on the back porch without being whacked in the face by a wayward rod. Read all about them here.
